2021-09-30 – Well, summer is over so we cleaned out the tree house and got it semi organized for the winter. I was the last one up there so before coming down I did a little drawing on the chalk board. It's a great image to wrap up my project 365.
2021-09-29 – Aili drew her own style of hop scotch layout and is getting really good. I enjoy having the grandkids over and watching them grow and play. I can't believe how big Aili has gotten. She is all legs.
2021-09-28 – Lisa has been trying to teach the girls how to play hop scotch. She gave each of them their own hoppy taw and she turned them lose on the driveway. It was fun to watch them play.
2021-09-27 – Lisa's leaf blower gave up the ghost so we rand down to The Home Depot and bought a new one. Of course I had to test it out so I told Indy to stand there and I hit her with the full blast of 110 MPH. She thought it was great.
2021-09-26 – Lisa and I took a ride around the Alpine loop to check out the fall colors. The maples were bright red and beautiful. The aspen trees were just barely starting to change. But we did spot two moose. It looked like a mom and her baby. The mom is tucked back on the upper left. The baby is the one you see. It was very young, but still a very tall animal.
2021-09-25 – On the last day of FHL the last speaker was Tony Robbins. It was amazing. He was booked to speak for 3 hours. I had to leave for the airport at 2:45 minutes figuring I was only going to miss his last few minutes, then found out he went on for 6 full hours. I so wish I could have been there for the full time. He is so inspiring.
2021-09-24 – Steph sent this photo of Cruz on their bed in their new NY apartment. I thought it was so cute I had to use it for my photo of the day.
2021-09-23 – Day 2 of FHL was just as crazy as Day 1. This video late in the afternoon shows just how much energy these people have. And the conference was 14 hours each day with basically one short break to grab some food.
2021-09-22 – Today is the first day of Funnel Hacker Live. These window signs lined the hall leading to the conference center. They pretty much summarize the entire event.
2021-09-21 – I flew all day today to Orlando for Funnel Hacker Live and then meet up with a group of LDS marketing people for pizza and networking late into the evening. This was just a part of the group of very interesting and amazing people.
2021-09-20 – We were at IKEA this past weekend. Lisa was thinking about getting some new dishes, which she did. I saw some silverware that I fell in love with and put in our cart and told Lisa I wasn't giving her an option. We were buying them. I didn't look at the price until after and then realized I had just purchased some of the most expensive silverware ever. Had I looked at the price at the store I would't have purchased them, but I'm really glad I did. For a setting for 12 the cost was $195. So this photo is the new white bowl with my jet black silverware. So cool. And my favorite Reeses Puffs for breakfast.
2021-09-19 – We celebrated Eero's 2nd birthday today. I had many photos and video clips but picked this one simply because of his joy of blowing out the candles. We had to light them many times so he could blow them out over and over. He was way more interested in that than the cupcake the candles were in.
2021-09-18 – Lisa bought big sticks of chalk for the grandkids. This art was on the back sidewalk by the hot tub. We are pretty sure it is Estee's work. I loved the multi colored dress.
2021-09-17 – After the the play, Mouse Trap, we decided to get dinner and went to The Bohemian, where they have German dishes. Since we haven't been able to travel this sounded like a wonderful idea. This pork shank, or Schweinshaxen, and a very traditional meal. It was amazing and made it feel like we were in Germany on vacations.
2021-09-16 – The kids gave Lisa and I tickets to Mouse Trap at the Hale Theater in Murry. This is an Agatha Christy play and is the longest continually running play ever. It was really fun and so well done.
2021-09-15 – I was in the front yard and was enjoying all the green when I spotted the fun birdhouse through the palm fronds so pulled my phone and shot this photo.
2021-09-14 – I was a little late to play pickleball at lunch so had to wait and watch for the guys to finish their game. I decided to try and catch a good action shot. This one I liked because you can't step into the light blue area until after the ball bounces, so TJay on the right is stepping in to return the ball. Then you have to get out before the other team hits it back. That light blue area is called "the kitchen" and you have to be really careful not to step into this area unless you are returning the ball described above. If you are in the kitchen when you shouldn't be, even a toe over the line, you lose your serve to the other team.
2021-09-13 – I'm going to miss this little guy, but I'm excited for him to get to know the city he was born in. He has been my best friend and has brought me so much joy.
2021-09-12 – It was a sad day today. It was our last chance to have Sean, Steph and Cruz with us in Utah. They are moving back to NYC tomorrow. I wanted a photo of all 8 grandkids together one last time. Cruz and Eero were not pleased to have to sit for the photo. I took many shots, but none of them were great photos, but combined in an animated way, it caught the drama and was a fun last memory.
2021-09-11 – I love a great detail photo. This was the door to a restaurant up in the Salt Lake Valley. Somebody did a great job of creating the appearance of a large beer stein. Very appropriate since this place was also a micro brewery.
2021-09-10 – Logan rented the same blow up Chris had previously and set it up in our back yard. The grand kids loved it. It was fun to just sit and watch them get more and more bold jumping and diving off the top.
2021-09-09 – Even though Cruz has discovered trains and loves them, cars are his true passion. This is him playing with the Hot Wheels in the loft of the tree house. A photo didn't do it justice so I shot video so I could capture his intense focus.
