I've wanted to shoot some fall photos so I took a hike up Battle Creek Canyon near our home. I've never hiked this canyon before but I found several waterfalls, including one that was about 40 feet tall. There was still a great deal of green but the maple trees were red and the aspen trees had started to go yellow. I even stumbled across a rattle snake along the trail. The sound of his rattles put a chill in me thinking what might have happened had I stepped in the wrong place. Fortunately he gave me a very early warning and then moved away. He never coiled or acted aggressive in any way so the threat was low. Overall it was a beautiful hike.
