Salmon we caught in 1969 when we lived in Paradise.
I think we were fishing on the Sacrament River when we caught this. It took me driving the boat and my dad fighting the fish for 30 minutes to keep him out of the deep and tire him out so we could get him into the boat. It was about 36" and about 36 pounds. A big fish and an exciting day.
The Deer Hunt
I believe my dad shot this buck up in the mineral basin area on the north fork of American Fork Canyon. I loved hunting with my dad, but we slowed down about this time after I got married and was in school. Lisa and I were married about 10 months at this point. My dad's other passion is behind us. He loved to cut and split wood just for the fun of it.
1975 Family Vacation
This summer we loaded into the blue Chevy Suburban and drove coast to coast. One of the stops was Niagara Falls. It was a fun trip and the first time I had traveled a longer distance than a visit to California.
Senior Pictures
Even though this was my senior picture, it was shot just after my Junior year. Shortly after this I got braces that I wore right up to the time I left on my mission.
Viking Varsity Basketball
I'm #3 at the bottom left. Top row, left to right: Tom Strausburg, Lane Butt, Raymond Walker, Kyle ???, Brett Jenkins. Bottom row, left to right: Kirk Tanner, Bret Frampton, Gary Jackson, Brent Keetch.
Dad Skiing at Solitude
In the 80's my dad and skied together. We had matching bibs and jackets. He was really aggressive for his age. I say that now that I'm older because at his age I would never have done the crazy things he did. I got this picture of him shooting out of the trees and off a drift of snow. The form wasn't always the greatest, but the smile on his face tells you how much fun we had.
Christmas 1991 in the new Tanner home
It says 1992, but this is our first Christmas in our new home in 1991. We had the Tanners, Roberts, Glaitllis and the Thomas' all together for Christmas eve. This would have been only a few weeks after we moved into the house.
Doug Tanner and his future wife, Lori.
Doug Tanner and Lori.
I was 16 and we drove coast to coast in our blue and white Chevy Suburban. These caves were just one of many stops we made that summer. I believe this is near Colorado Springs if I remember correctly.
My Wedding Day
Me with my two Best Men, Bret Frampton on the left, and Brent Keetch on the right. My little brother Dustin was 5 (standing in front of me).
I jumped like a white guy, but was a good outside shooter. We only lost one game all season. Unfortunately it was the state championship against Bingham High. We lost by one point in a double overtime.
What I Loved Most in High School
I was a little more physical than some players and did have a problem with a little contact, especially if they ended up on the floor
Leena and Lisa - 1978
One of my favorite photos. This is Lisa (right) and her cousin Leena from Finland (left), I think in 1978 while I was on my mission . We have grown close to Leena and her family over the years with them come here and us visiting in Finland.
My 30th Birthday In Marblehead
My 30th birthday I celebrated in a little town I'd never heard of before called Marblehead, just north of Boston. The Restaurant was The Barnicle. I've been back several times now and celebrated my 53rd birthday there while Logan and Kristen lived in the area. The waitress on my 53rd bday said most likely she was working this night. If she was, she is in the photo. UPDATE: I was back for almost my 56th birthday (September) and took this photo with me to see if anyone recognized the two girls that served us on my 30th birthday. All the employees at The Barnicle recognized the two girls working this night. One was Shelly and the other Lynn. Shelly was the daughter of the owner and had worked there until just a few years ago. I think Shelly was the one in Red. Lynn was her friend and a local that still lives in the area. She only worked there a few years.
Senior Prom
Ray Fugal and Sandra Harmer at prom. They married but Sandra died of lung cancer in her late 40's. That was hard on me. Both were good friends and Sandra had been a Jr. High girlfriend.
Sometime in the early 90's Lisa and I went with Brent Alderman and his wife golfing in St. George. I'm not sure what I was thinking when I got dressed this morning. Flash forward to 2012. I shared this photo at work and my team, behind my back, contacted the Nintendo Legal department stating they had copied me when they created Mario. They playfully went along, but responded with drawings predating my photo. The did offer the the title of "original Mario impersonator." The guys at work presented this all to me for Christmas in front of the entire company. Pretty funny.
BYU Graduation with Trey Hall
Best friend at BYU. After BYU graduation we worked and saved over the summer then went to Northwestern together to get out Masters degree in Advertising. Trey died on Memorial day 2015, May 25th while cycling with his wife in the Colorado mountains. His heart went into arrhythmia and he died before he could get help.

Grandma & Grandpa Tanner
Based on my memories, this looks like it was taken in Las Vegas where they lived when I was just a kid. It was taken most likely in the mid to late 60s. I think this was the driveway, but I'm not sure. I just remember those trees behind them.
